Koh Tao can have a pretty wild nightlife. The bars are generally a little more chilled, and a lot less crowded than the huge full moon parties on the nearby island of Koh Phangan, but with a bucket of Thai whiskey being passed around the dance floor you can quickly find yourself lost in a party that will continue through to the early morning.

Professional DJ's from all over the world spin their very best. Fire jugglers frequently perform on the beaches. Each night of the week will find a different party. Look out for flyers at shops and taxis. Most of the bigger clubs have dance floors on the beach, a couple up in the mountains.

There are also plenty of more relaxed, chilled little bars along the beaches in which to warm up for the parties or just unwind and get into the music.

Some places show live sports, some have pool tables and now & then places with daily changing movie programs invite you to come in and enjoy. Thai boxing is performed at irregular times- check for flyers on the street. Don't miss it!

Open from 18.00 onwards it´s more of a cocktail bar than a restaurant. They make parties (very popular) on the beach and in general it is a good place where to spend the night.

Fun place for a heavy drinking session. Lots of people and drink with a view over Sairee Beach. Good starting place before continuing dancing at AC Bar.

Koh Tao Bowling - On the road to Chalok Beach
Opened in August 2005, this is the only alternative to a night in a pub or a disco. Bowling, Bocce and a restaurant to be opened soon. The area is very large and the plan is to transform it into a more complete entertainment area.

Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan
There are about 10,000-20,000 people every month at this Koh Phangan beach party. It is of course known as the Full Moon Party. International and Thai DJ's are making the crowd go wild. Paint yourself in UV colors and let your body lose control. The DJ's play all kinds of music; techno, trance, goa, drum n' bass, dub, reggae, commercial hits, house etc on about 15 soundsystems along Haad Rin beach. There are also many small tables on the beach where you can sit down with your friends or meet new ones from all parts of the globe. You can order drinks and food from the restaurants and the bars next to the Had Rin Nok beach.
