Sairee Beach is Koh Tao’s most popular and populated area. Along the 1.7 km long beach you find a very cozy walk road where cars are not allowed to drive. This makes this area a great place for an evening walk with friends.

If you start from the Rama V’s Rock in the South and walk your way up you will find places like Flower and AC which offer BBQ fish and meat. In this area the restaurants really kept their Thai interior and most restaurants have Thai cushions to sit on by a low table. Further down you find resorts like Bingo and Ban’s Diving. The Fish Bowl in the Ban’s restaurant is a fun place to hang out and meet new friends. After Ban’s Diving you have the Seashell Resort whose family was one of the first arriving to Koh Tao. There are also a few massage places along the beach in this area. Coming further down you find all the longtail boats offering trips around the island or a round trip to Koh Nang Yuan. Reaching the end of the walkway you find two very popular restaurants Italian Portobello and Papa's Tapas. Portobello opened early 2006 and quickly became Sairee’s most popular restaurant. Just 20 meters down from Papas Tapas there is a 24 hour opened 7-Eleven (two more on Sairee Beach are about to open in October 2006).

Last on this walkway there is a great place for shopping called Zunami. Here you find all you need for your holiday wardrobe. Also try Choppers and Morava in this area. Morava is a very relaxed place with some great dishes on the menu. For late snacks try Slice24 which is opened 24 hours and having some great pizza by the slice.
